I listened to 2 podcasts about Darpa and robotics. The first one about Darpa was about how Darpa has made some controversial and amazing things. One thing that they tried to make was a particle beam that would blast nuclear missiles out of space, nicknamed "Star Wars." Darpa used to be called Arpa, leaving out the defense part. Millions of dollars were spent on the Star Wars and money is still being invested in the project. At the end of the Cold War, Darpa was stuck in a strange place, without the Soviet Union, Darpa wasn't sure what they were for anymore. After 9/11, Darpa had found their purpose once again, instead of competing with the Soviet Union, they realized terrorism was going to be the new problem they need to address. Darpa addressed the idea of controlling things like drones with our minds, but, the idea was scrapped due to controversy. Trump's wall is being considered as a candidate for Darpa's defense systems. More things were invented by Darpa, like the Internet, Driver-less cars, and drones. This first podcast was called "Inside DARPA: The 'Imagineers Of War.'"
The next one, "Robots And Our Automated Future," was about all kinds of robotics and how they will take over many jobs. Robots can do things like make houses, robots with arms that can move 360 degrees in any direction. People will be able to make blueprints for their own houses and have the robots build it for them. Robots don't have limits like human builders do. Robots could make houses in almost any shape, cube, sphere, even dodecahedron. This robotic change could be coming a bit slower than we all expect, though. Safety is a huge setback, house building is a very tedious job, one mistake could lead to the fall of a house, endangering all people inside the house. Automated working jobs being replaced by robots could be a good thing, though, with robots doing all the heavy lifting, people would have a lot more time to work at more emotional jobs like teaching, elderly care, or therapy. In about 15 years, robots could be taking over 38% of jobs. It's been very interesting listening to these professionals talking about them.

A new month means the deadline for this project is getting shorter. I'm hoping to get the best score I can, and feel I will.
Today I found out that you could buy a Darwin Robot for yourself. The price is very high though, being at a cost of $12,000. I would buy one for myself, but they cost a lot. On my Trip To Chicago tab, I talk about the attributes of a Darwin Robot, make sure to check it out!
On Friday, I went to the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry for their robotics exhibit. Very interesting robots were shown, made by college students. One of the robots was made to track a red ball to kick it to one person in the crowd, I was lucky enough to have it kicked to me.
Yesterday, I got my interview done with Rich Hooper. Rich owns a robotics website, and has a college degree in robotics engineering. Yesterday, I also learned about the robotic singularity, which interested me in studying this topic even further.
My project is at the beginning stages of its development. I've just made this website yesterday, and have started on my "What Motivates Me," page. So far, it is looking pretty good. I'm a little stressed about my interview, though, because I planned on going to Chicago on April 15th, but, the interview is due next Friday.
